Rodrigo Palacios - Art Statement

Hundreds of years of idealism, including all of the great romantics of the XIX century, and more recently Jorge Luis Borges' works, have persuaded me that the concrete world surrounding us is deceitful. What we see is a mere illusion. As a result, the obvious path for me to follow with my art is to seek out the other world, the one that transcends our shallow, quotidian reality. I'm constantly trying to create images that describe -or suggest- a plateau where truth reigns supreme, thus escaping the fake.
