The Moon Is Dreaming: A Poem on Twilight, Loss & Perception
The Moon Is Dreaming
The moon is dreaming,
the moon is dreaming him.
The sun, the golden sun, had already sunk
deep beyond the horizon,
leaving me perplexed,
abandoned by the twilight of that day,
immersed in the sadness
cast over me by the tenuous,
silvery reflection of that moon
at the moment when the inner-real of reality
envelops the world,
and you come to realize
that the thief gloating in the far distance,
where the sun had disappeared,
leaving me at her mercy,
was stealing him
from you
forever…
