Take Me Aloft: A Passionate Poem to the Moon, Desire, and Cosmic Transience
Take Me Aloft
Raise me.
Uplift me,
O luna, lunera.
Take me in your arms,
away, far away—
wrap me gently
in a swath of scarlet tulle,
O luna escarlata,
O moon of bare silvery breasts
In the warmth of your beams,
I want to be in you,
body and soul.
My lips ache
for your moonlight kisses.
tongue that light into me.
whizzing through the firmament,
you and I
take our place
in the midday sun
for all to see,
O luna of the sun.
Luna, lunera,
cascabelera,
moon of dusk—
an injected dusk.
I want your blood
to give me life.
ram me with your light,
luna escarlata,
cascabelera.
